Our name is intentionally meaningless and informal as a reflection of the free spiritedness that we feel is in short supply among teens nowadays. In our mass competitive culture, the ability to be carefree seems highly rare. I have named our community as such an intentional juxtaposition against this somewhat tragic experience that I have observed my peers and I frequently live.
Create a fun and judgement-free space for teenagers to do something with no set purpose - as a contrast to the rest of our lives where everything needs to be goal-oriented. We promote values of respectfulness and inclusivity, but other than that it is important to me that this online space remains true to its original purpose.
Deepening of purpose: Having interacted with many peers via this online community, I have noticed that we have all in some way shape or form experienced bouts of struggles with mental health issues, frequently as a consequence of external performance related pressure. I decided to take my passion for humor one step further by using it as a means of healing from teenage mental health struggles.
We started as two delusional 6th graders climbing up stairs to Physical Education class. We looked up at the roof in awe and thought, "Imagine if that were a slide."
Somehow, such a delusional thought rapidly evolved into discussing airline services, and thus, Lemon Biscuit Taco Co. came to be.
